As a Registered Nurse (RN) in our 38-bed (28+10) multi-specialty Intensive Care Unit (ICU), you will play an integral role in delivering exceptional, patient-centered care. ABOUT OUR UNIT:
Multi-Specialty ICU:
- 28 MICU/ SICU/CCU/neuro ICU beds
- 10 CTICU beds
Nurses are trained to take care of any medical, surgical, neurology, cardiology and cardiothoracic patients, gaining knowledge and skills in all specialties.
CT Surgery Recognition: St. Elizabeth's Medical Center has been named the best hospital for cardiac surgery in Massachusetts in 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Deliver nursing care in the ICU unit, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients
* Communicate with various health care team members, patients, and their families
* Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues
* Update and manage patient records
* Enter and interpret computerized data/information
* Follow guidelines and policies established by BMCHS/St. Elizabeth’s nursing department
* Assist the leadership team as needed in quality improvement projects
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
* Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
* Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications required. ACLS can be obtained during orientation.
* Nursing degree: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) required
* Relevant clinical experience
* Effective verbal and written communication skills
* Physical ability to meet job responsibilities
* Basic computer proficiency
* Fluency in another language a plus
Weekend Requirement: every third weekend
