Role overview
As a Field Installations Engineer at JLA, you will support us on our mission to be a trusted partner for our customers, making sure that we are always there and that “we take care of it”. You’ll support our customers across care, hospitality, education, housing, healthcare and prison services with their laundry servicing and repair needs.
This is an exciting opportunity that provides you with plenty of variety each day, providing excellent service and technical expertise to customers, and a role where you can develop and take pride and care in your work. You will be installing a variety of laundry and catering equipment across our customer sites.
We are investing in training and development for our Engineers with our new ‘JLA Academy’, which will provide you with the opportunity to cross-skill across both laundry and catering equipment, develop your mechanical and electrical skills/experience, and enhance your product knowledge on JLA laundry machines.
Key tasks
1. Install laundry & catering equipment as and when directed by the Installations team
2. Carry out comprehensive, competent, and safe remedial repairs to customer and Company satisfaction
3. Clean equipment and the immediate vicinity of the machine after completion of site work, leaving the site clean and tidy
4. Complete and provide reports in relation to work and equipment as required, including reporting your arrival and departure from each call and obtaining customer signature where required
5. Drive the implementation of engineering best practice processes, procedures and tools that maximise effectiveness and efficiency
6. Maintain technical and system updates and releases as required
7. Manage tooling and van stocks as well as job part orders appropriately by receipting, consuming or returning for each job
8. Support growth generation by submitting lead opportunities

1. Maintain our reputation within the industry by demonstrating excellent customer service practices, acting responsively to the needs of the customer with the aim of delivering customer satisfaction
2. Manage on-site customer queries in a fair and courteous manner
3. Handle any challenging situations with customers in a professional and courteous manner at all times.
4. Be responsive and cooperative and achieve the required tasks set
Managing Health & Safety
1. To carry out all activities with proper regard for personal safety and the safety of colleagues and customers by ensuring adherence and reasonable care of H&S regulations and procedures at all times
2. Report identified risks in line with H&S procedures
3. Attend H&S training and briefings on a regular basis

Knowledge and Skills (what you know and what you can do)
Essentials -
* Skilled in installing laundry/ catering equipment
* Knowledge of electrical and plumbing work
* Proficient level of computer skills
* Good knowledge of the English language, both written and verbal

* Gas Safe registered
