We are seeking a committed Teaching Assistant to join a Key Stage 4 Alternative Provision, based in a unique and inspiring setting. Position: Teaching Assistant Location: Grade 1 Listed Building, Wirral Contract: Full-time, immediate start About the School: The provision caters to Key Stage 4 students who have experienced difficulties in previous educational settings, leading to permanent exclusion. They provide a nurturing environment that focuses on re-engagement with learning. Housed in a Grade 1 listed building, the school offers adaptable spaces for small group work, activities, and specialized programs. The facilities include classrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, and a games room, designed to create a balanced and supportive atmosphere. Key Responsibilities: Provide classroom support to students, working closely with the teaching team to deliver engaging and tailored lessons. Help break down barriers to learning by building strong, trusting relationships with students. Support students in both academic and personal development, helping them regain confidence in education. Assist with practical activities and encourage participation in the kitchen, games room, and other group activities. Foster a safe and supportive environment, guiding students in managing their behaviour and emotions. Ideal Candidate: Empathy and the ability to build strong relationships with students who may have negative past experiences with education. Experience working with students who have additional learning needs, SEMH, or behavioural challenges is highly desirable. Patience, resilience, and a positive, proactive approach to supporting students' re-engagement with learning. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff and other support teams. Requirements: Experience in a similar educational setting (desirable but not essential). A compassionate and non-judgmental attitude.
