Job summary Harrogate Integrated Facilities are looking to recruit a Mechanical Technician, to join a dynamic and diverse Estates Team. The post holder will be part of a team of multi-skilled engineering colleagues, delivering a continuously improving schedule of planned and reactive maintenance in order to provide a safe environment for patients, members of the public, and colleagues at Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust. Main duties of the job The Mechanical Technician will undertake a wide range of maintenance, repairs, planned preventative maintenance, installation, and minor new works on equipment, plant, and engineering services at Harrogate & District NHS Foundation Trust and its partners. The post holder will be required to undertake fault diagnosis on a number of mechanical engineering systems, including: steam, heating, hot and cold domestic water, ventilation, building control and automation, pumps, compressors, drainage and sewerage. Training will be provided for work on specialist systems such as decontamination equipment (sterilisers, washer disinfectors, automatic endoscope reprocessors) and medical gas pipeline systems. About us Harrogate Integrated Facilities (HIF) Estates Department's primary objective is to manage and maintain all engineering services, including all aspects of the built environment at Harrogate & District NHS Foundation Trust (HDFT), in order to provide a safe and comfortable environment for patients and staff; and ensuring compliance with all statutory standards. The department manages all planned and reactive engineering tasks associated with the various systems, such as; low voltage electricity, hot and cold water, steam, ventilation, medical gas, fire, alarms and BMS, together with the maintenance and upkeep of the buildings themselves, including structure, roofs, roadways and internal/external finishes.
