Overview
As part of our continued expansion and transition towards high-volume manufacturing, we have a new opportunity at Pragmatic for an outstanding Product Engineer to join our growing Operations function.
Reporting to the Director - Yield and Product Engineering, you will be responsible for all Product Engineering activities in our 300mm fab in Durham. The role predominantly entails both Production wafer-level (CP/WS) and die-level functional test methodology development, involving design hardware and software solutions for volume production; data analysis; and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure product quality and optimal performance.
You will play a leading role in driving continuous improvement in test coverage, yield and product quality while supporting new product introductions (NPI), prototype chip corner validation and general customer satisfaction. We are seeking candidates with excellent communication skills, in addition to technical expertise.
A highly competitive benefits package is on offer, with Visa and Relocation support available, as well as significant opportunities for growth and progression. The role would preferably be based in the North East of England, however we are open to candidates based in Cambridge.
Key tasks
* Participate in design and develop chip test methodology, including hardware Probecard schematics, layout, software test flow, and test programs.
* Work with Yield Engineers and Test Engineers to conduct routine CP calibration, engineering, production testing data analysis to identify and resolve hardware or software issues, continuously improving test coverage, stability and performance.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Design and Test Teams to define Prototype chip and Corner validation plan, ATE test functional limits and specifications. Validate new ATE hardware and test programs through GRR analysis from NPI to ramp-up stage.
* Participate in chip functional engineering test, characterisation, and qualification plans for NPI products. Support qualification test hardware builds and test program development.
* Support DFM, DFR and DFT development strategy and device modelling plan, continuing to improve testability to optimise flow and reduce test time/cost.
* Evaluate production RMA customer return parts at ATE Chip Probe, Final Test, and/or system level test and drive vital failure analysis, 8D and continuous improvement to meet quality and company DPPM targets.
Qualifications and training
* Bachelor’s degree in a suitable subject like Physics, Electronics, Microelectronics, Semiconductor, or equivalent experience in a related field (essential).
* Master’s Degree (preferable).
Skills and experience
* Proven Product Engineering experience in high-volume wafer Fab/Foundry, Fabless, ATE Test House, or Chip Assembly plants (essential).
* Thorough understanding of IC circuit and design flow (essential).
* Solid knowledge of Chip Test HW and TP Software design methodologies (essential).
* Strong data analytical skills with experience using semiconductor analysis software (essential).
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a good ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment (essential).
* Yield or Test Engineering experience (desirable).
* Familiarity with chip qualification standards and procedures such as JEDEC (desirable).
* Experience of general data analysis tools, PDF/Exensio/FDC, yieldHUB, Spotfire, Dr. Yield, Yieldwerx, Galaxy etc (desirable).
