The role: Reporting to the People Strategy Manager, the People Advisor will be a key member of the People Department, providing cover during a period of maternity leave. The role will focus on ensuring smooth People Department operations, maintaining compliance with employment laws, managing employee records, and enhancing employee engagement and wellbeing. The People Advisor will also support talent acquisition processes and support the administration of various People systems and policies.
Key Responsibilities:
* Serve as the primary point of contact for all People-related inquiries
* Provide proactive and effective guidance and advice throughout the employee life cycle
* Stay informed about changes in employment law and ensure ongoing compliance throughout the company
* Manage employee records, payroll documentation, and benefits administration, including pensions and wellness programs.
* Collaborate with Finance on monthly payroll reports and manage external partnerships with benefits providers.
* Support People-related projects and initiatives as needed.
* Assist with company wellness and engagement activities
* Coordinate company events, meetings, and employee engagement activities, ensuring inclusivity for both in-person and remote employees.
* Manage employee lifecycle surveys, providing insights and action plans to the leadership team
* Administer and optimize the HRIS system (Bob), ensuring data accuracy and providing training to employees.
* Generate and analyse People data and reports to inform decision-making.
* Maintain subscriptions and integrations with other People-focused systems (e.g., iHasco).
* Support the full recruitment process for permanent positions, from job posting to onboarding.
* Manage the planning and administration of the interview process in coordination with hiring managers and People Strategy Manager
Requirements:
* Proven experience in an HR advisory role, with a strong understanding of UK employment law.
* Minimum CIPD Level 3
* Experience managing payroll and employee expenses
* Experience working with HR Information Systems (specifically HiBob)
* Strong understanding of relevant employment laws and regulations
* Proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships
* Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
* Ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels within an organisation
* Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
* Able to handle sensitive and confidential information
* Can work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
* Strong organisational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
* Takes initiative and has a pro-active approach to problem solving
* Strong ability to assess candidate skills and qualifications through interviews and other assessments
