Our client, a company committed to leading the change to a more sustainable future is currently looking to hire an HGV Technician. The successful candidate will ensure that all vehicles are maintained to a high safety and performance standard, identifying and repairing any mechanical or electrical issues.
The HGV Technician will:
Assess issues related to engines, transmissions, brake systems, and other critical components of HGVs.
Monitor and record vehicle performance to anticipate potential problems and schedule timely interventions.
Carry out routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire checks and replacements, and fluid top-ups.
Use computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) for logging and tracking repair and maintenance activities.
Provide detailed cost estimates and timelines for repairs and services.
Conduct repairs on various vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, and suspension.
The HGV Technician will have:
Proficient in the use of diagnostic tools and repair equipment specific to HGVs.
Ability to lift heavy components and perform physically demanding tasks.
Strong mechanical and electrical repair skills.
Capability to work in various conditions, including outdoor environments and in confined spaces.
Awareness and understanding of health and safety requirements.
Excellent problem-solving abilities.
