Our client, a leading consultancy in the rail sector, is currently seeking an Earthwork Examiner to join their team on a long-term contract based in Scotland. The role involves responsibility for carrying out comprehensive earthworks examinations in alignment with Network Rail standards, with a focus on ensuring safety and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out earthworks examinations in line with Network Rail standards Prepare, compile, sign, and submit reports for each earthworks examination to the Earthworks Examining Engineer or Earthworks Manager using handheld technology Immediately notify the Earthworks Examining Engineer and/or the Earthworks Manager of any defects that pose safety concerns Submit urgent defect reports to the Earthworks Manager via the Earthworks Examining Engineer when urgent action is required to maintain safety Support the planning of the examination work-bank to manage risk and compliance in accordance with Network Rail Standards
Job Requirements:
Experience in undertaking Earthworks Examinations, or some experience in geotechnical engineering/engineering geology within Railways Competence in NR/L3/CIV/065 standards Minimum competency of PTS, with IWA prioritised Ability to travel for site visits across Scotland Possession of a driving licence and own vehicle If you are an experienced Earthwork Examiner with a background in geotechnical engineering or engineering geology within the rail sector, we would love to hear from you.
