Are you a pro-active sales professional with outstanding customer service skills? On behalf of our client, we are seeking a dedicated Internal Sales Person to drive business with existing customers and ensure accuracy throughout the sales order process.
Working from our client’s premises in East Hull, the successful candidate will manage existing customer accounts, maximising sales from every order and ensuring high levels of customer service are achieved to drive existing business.
Duties:
1. To have a high standard of product awareness in respect of their allocated commodity and be able to assist & advise their colleagues – Sales Operators & Areas Sales Representatives – with regards to the supply & pricing of these materials, whilst also liaising directly with customers.
2. To assist the Branch to attain overall monthly budget objectives, via increased margin & turnover and also achieve the specified budget targets for their commodity.
3. To support the Sales Operators and Area Representatives with the development of new business.
4. Pro-active Tele-sales when incoming calls are quieter and following up on enquiries and prompt response to incoming calls.
5. Check & query customer last price paid and raise quotes for conversion to Price Agreements where possible.
6. Check the sell price of their own commodity items to ensure that they are happy that these materials are not being undersold.
7. Increase the overall accuracy of processing customer orders by ensuring correct delivery, specification (only use codes with stock available) and price details entered.
8. Improve internal communication with Transport and relevant Departments to ensure customer expectations are met and OTIF targets are achieved.
9. Accurate pricing of Purchase Orders (be aware of margin implications).
10. Consistent & professional approach to the entering of information on paperwork & following agreed procedures.
11. Be responsible for the stock control on their own commodity items, the investigation & resolution of negative and positive stock, Perpetual Stock Counts and the use of correct product codes.
12. Be aware of the negative stock implications of using codes with no stock showing.
13. Ensure Purchase Orders, Stock Transfers and Work Orders are linked as a related document for all orders processes, where necessary.
14. Reduce supplier invoice queries by ensuring correct prices are entered on supplier purchase orders.
15. Assist with prompt payment objectives and reduced Debtor Days by responding to customer invoice queries or return requests promptly.
Salary: £25,000 - £28,000 per annum (dependant on industry experience) / 5 days per week
