We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Rail Survey Manager to join our dynamic team at Vision Survey and as we expand into the Rail Sector. This role presents an exciting and unique opportunity to build the department from the ground up and lead surveying operations on major rail projects across the UK. Responsibilities Build and grow the Rail department from the ground up. Manage and lead surveying teams on rail projects, ensuring all tasks are completed to high standards. Coordinate survey activities, safety measures, and project timelines with project managers and other stakeholders. Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure accuracy in data collection and adherence to specifications. Implement and maintain quality assurance procedures for all surveying deliverables. Oversee the selection and maintenance of survey equipment and technology. Build and maintain strong client relationships while ensuring customer satisfaction. Provide mentorship and training to junior surveyors, fostering professional development within the team. Compile and present comprehensive survey reports to clients and management, using software such as AutoCAD and GIS. Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and standard operating procedures. Requirements Proven experience in within Rail industry, with a strong understanding of surveying principles and techniques. Ability to manage a team effectively while fostering collaboration and communication. Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines. Flexibility to travel to various job sites across the UK. Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with stakeholders at all levels. Desirables RICS/ICES qualification. Experience with rail projects specifically and an understanding of associated regulations and standards. Knowledge of advanced survey technologies, including GNSS, laser scanning, and UAVs. Experience using survey software such as CAD, GIS, or similar. A degree in surveying, engineering, or a related field.
