About the Role: We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Forensic Laboratory Assistant to join our forensic testing laboratory. The ideal candidate will have experience in an analytical or testing laboratory and a strong background in life sciences, preferably forensic science. This role involves a variety of responsibilities, including sample preparation, equipment calibration, and data processing.
Key Responsibilities:
Calibrate basic laboratory equipment to ensure accurate and reliable results.
Perform general administrative tasks, including updating the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
Process samples for forensic testing using LCMS and GCMS techniques.
Liaise with suppliers for procurement and manage laboratory stock levels.
Handle waste management in compliance with safety regulations.
Prepare samples for forensic analysis.
Produce forensic reports based on data received from testing.
Ensure compliance with regulatory standards such as UKAS, ISO, or GLP.
Qualifications:
A degree in a life science discipline, ideally forensic science.
1 - 2 years of experience in an analytical or testing laboratory.
Experience working in a regulatory environment (e.g., UKAS, ISO, GLP).
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in using laboratory equipment and software.
A valid driving license is preferable.
