Team Leader - Residential Childcare
Location: Leyland, Lancashire
Salary: £31,692.40 - £36,192.40 (This includes an average of 10 sleep-ins per month)
Hours: 40 hours per week
Rota Pattern: 5-week rolling rota. 2 days on shift and 3 days off pattern
£55 paid per sleep-in carried out
Overtime rate: £15.41 - £18.11 p.h.
Bank Holiday rate: £18.50 - £21.74 p.h.
We are looking for a Team Leader for one of our clients Residential Children’s Home based in Leyland, Lancashire.
Our client is a provider of residential children services for children and young people with EBD and behaviours that challenge, offering a homely work environment and a supportive management team with ongoing training.
As a Team Leader, you will play a full and effective role as a member of the staff team, providing high-quality assessment and residential care for young people with EBD and behaviours that challenge.
Our client is looking for a dedicated organised senior childcare worker who can lead a shift and take the initiative to work well independently as well as working well with other members of the staff team.
Team Leader Duties and Responsibilities include:
1. Plan, manage and lead shifts
2. Encourage, support and guide members of the staff team
3. Attend case reviews, planning meetings and any other meetings as required
4. Undertake specific administration tasks as directed by the Home Manager
5. Actively participate in supervision, appraisal, training, meetings & consultancies
6. Maintain records as required
7. To be alert to signs of distress or abuse and to ensure that the young people are monitored and protected, and their needs are met ensuring that all safeguarding needs are met
8. Contribute to care planning and the implementation of these plans
9. Taking responsibility for a small number of young people and ensuring that their needs are fully met
10. Establishing relationships which young people perceive to be positive, warm and rewarding
Requirements for this Team Leader position are:
1. Diploma Level 3 in Residential Childcare
2. Experience of working in a senior position
3. 2 years’ experience of working within a residential childcare environment
4. Experience of working with young people with EBD and behaviours that challenge
5. Able to work on a shift pattern which includes sleep-ins
