Electrical Controls Engineer

I am looking for a motivated Controls Engineer to join a well-established manufacturing company. This role will suit someone who is looking to utilize their skills to help maintain a state-of-the-art production facility to a high standard. Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, you will be involved in all aspects of electrical, controls, and automation within their operation. Job Roles & Responsibilities:
1. Working knowledge on Electrical systems and Electrical wiring
2. Experienced in troubleshooting of electrical/electronic and control systems
3. Practical knowledge of using electrical wiring for fault troubleshooting
4. Practical knowledge of PM and reliability of electrical systems and controls
5. Working knowledge of PLC Controlled Safety Systems
6. Understand the design and working principles of Safety systems
7. Must have knowledge of some modern designs/brands of safety systems and their installations
8. Must be able to troubleshoot basic and complex faults in electrical safety systems/components (Safety switches, Machine Guarding Modules, Safety Relays, etc.)
9. Must be vast with maintenance and repair of such systems
10. Working/Practical knowledge of PLC systems and major brands (SIEMENS, Allen Bradley, etc.)
11. Must be able to back-up and perform authorized PLC programs installation/changes
12. Must be able to troubleshoot PLC faults and recommend correct solutions/improvements
13. Ability to back-up HMI software and install/configure new units
14. Basic knowledge in SCADA systems
15. Working knowledge in troubleshooting, repair, and calibration of automation systems, such as automatic packers and palletizers
16. Practical experience in working on Drives
17. Understanding of working principles of servo motors & drives
18. Working knowledge of various drive designs, configurations, and installation
19. Ability to back-up drive software and settings as well as transfer operation parameters into new drives
20. Ability to troubleshoot & repair major drive-related faults as well as proffer solutions/improvements
21. Experience with maintenance of drives
22. Preventive Maintenance & Computing/Analysis Skills
23. Understanding of PM plan
24. Knowledge of Root Cause Analysis
25. Ability to utilize basic condition monitoring techniques (vibration analysis, thermography)
26. Microsoft Office Skills for reporting, analysis, and documentation
27. Experience in the use of CMMS
Required Skills & Experience:
1. Engineering skills within Controls/PLC's/Automation/HMI's
2. HNC/HND/Degree - Engineering Related Discipline
3. Strong Electrical background
4. Worked previously within a manufacturing environment
