What you’ll do
As Commercial Manager you will track performance against budgets and identify opportunities to optimise across the P&L, maintaining a versioned outlook against which initiatives and strategic projects are tracked. You will coordinate Credit Committee pack creation and agenda, as well as lead the BCRC Investment Forum to ensure any new initiatives from across the function are sized and reviewed commercially. You will play a pivotal role in connecting with stakeholders, managing competing demands to articulate a clear understanding of the drivers of performance, and the levers available to influence it.
* You will develop, maintain and own forecasting models for bad debt, collections, debt sale and all lines across the BCRC P&L; working closely with the lifecycle commercial leads to ensure initiatives, drivers and context are understood and reflected in outlooks.
* You will maintain the BCRC Risk & Opportunities register, aligned with Commercial Finance (Consumer & SoHo) and track performance against budgets and rolling forecast, to articulate BCRC performance.
* You will support the lifecycle commercial teams in the creation of business cases, playing the role of a ‘critical friend’ in challenging assumptions and developing profitable credible proposals.
* You will own and lead the BCRC Investment Forum, ensuring all changes to strategy and proposals are vetted through this forum.
* You will coordinate and ensure the delivery of Credit Committee packs, agenda and minutes.
Who you are
Essential:
* You will be a highly numerate, analytical thinker with the ability to understand complex financial and commercial scenarios and distil them into simple concepts.
* You will understand forecasting models, with the ability to interrogate and reflect a variety of scenarios with numerous variable assumptions.
* You will be able to take complex inputs to produce simple outputs for decision makers.
* You will have proven communication skills with the ability to translate complex data into insights/recommendations, and to uphold challenge and discussion with senior stakeholders from across the business.
* You will have proven commercial acumen with a comfortability to challenge assumption in building credible business cases.
* You will have the ability to influence and coordinate others, to ensure deadlines are met for forecasting, committee and investment reviews.
Desirable:
* You will have experience working in an analytical/commercial background within a financial services or telecoms industry.
