Quality Improvement Engineer (Graduate or Experienced)
Joining the Quality Team and reporting to the Departmental Manager, the Quality Improvement Engineer will take the lead in maintaining and enhancing the company's Quality Management Systems and Processes. This role focuses on driving product and process improvements while fostering effective communication with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders on all quality-related matters.
Key Responsibilities
1. Customer Satisfaction: Ensure compliance with customer quality requirements throughout production and promptly resolve issues using methodologies such as PDCA and 8D.
2. Process Oversight: Make informed decisions regarding production line stoppages caused by quality concerns.
3. Product Evaluation: Conduct dimensional assessments to confirm alignment with CAD and technical specifications.
4. Documentation & Approval: Oversee the Sample Approval process for new products, including PPAP and FAI documentation.
5. Auditing & Improvement: Perform internal and supplier audits to identify and implement quality enhancements.
6. Quality Planning: Develop quality plans for new products and continuously improve Manufacturing Process Sheets (MPS).
7. Data Monitoring: Measure and analyse quality KPIs to enhance performance.
8. FMEA Management: Manage the FMEA process and introduce system improvements in line with Lean Manufacturing principles.
9. Training & Awareness: Provide quality awareness training for operational teams to ensure consistent standards.
10. Health & Safety Compliance: Uphold all workplace health and safety protocols.
Qualifications & Skills
1. Experience/Education: HND/Degree or equivalent with a minimum of three years' experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally within the automotive sector or a similar industry.
2. Problem-Solving: Demonstrated ability to identify, analyse, and resolve quality issues with robust, sustainable solutions.
3. Technical Proficiency: Expertise in 8D, FMEA, Control Plans, APQP, and PPAP processes.
4. Industry Standards: Solid understanding of IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 requirements.
5. Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, and a strong team-oriented mindset.
