Mechanical QA Inspector Data Centre Hertfordshire Our client is a large and well-established MEP Sub-Contractor operating across the UK, Ireland & Europe. They undertake major Mechanical & Electrical Packages on behalf of Tier:1 main contractors involved in technology schemes including Data Centres, Pharmaceutical, Semi-Conductor plants and heavy industrial projects. Due to continued growth in the region of their pharmaceutical division, our client is now seeking an experienced Mechanical QA Inspector to join their team based on a Data Centre build in Hertfordshire. Responsibilities Strong Knowledge of Mechanical Systems and Equipment: A deep understanding of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and other related systems commonly found in data centre construction. The inspector should be knowledgeable in system design, installation, and function to ensure all mechanical components are built to specification. Experience in Quality Assurance and Control: Proven experience in mechanical quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC), including familiarity with international standards, codes, and regulations (such as ASME, ISO, and NFPA). The QA inspector should be able to assess compliance and identify deviations from quality standards. Attention to Detail and Thorough Inspection Skills: Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to thoroughly inspect mechanical systems and installations to ensure all components are installed correctly and meet the required quality and safety standards. The inspector should also be skilled in documenting findings and generating inspection reports. Knowledge of Testing and Commissioning Procedures: Proficiency in the testing and commissioning of mechanical systems, including conducting functional testing, leak tests, and system performance verifications. The QA inspector should ensure that mechanical systems operate as intended before the data centre is handed over for use. Strong Communication and Reporting Skills: Effective communication skills to interact with contractors, engineers, and other stakeholders. The QA inspector should be able to report issues clearly, propose corrective actions, and provide regular updates on inspection progress. This ensures that mechanical systems are compliant and all quality issues are resolved promptly.
