Description
The purpose of the role is to ensure the safe and efficient day to day operation of Blantyre Organics Recycling under the direction of the Operations Manager.
The work involves manually sorting through various waste materials on the process line along with hygiene duties, ensuring relevant waste is separated per its stream and that all recyclable elements are recovered. Shift pattern for this role is 6am to 4pm on Monday to Friday, 45 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
o Ensure the recycling plant operations are managed in line with Health and Safety legislation and Enva standards.
o Ensure all duties (recycling, inspections and cleaning) are carried out and recorded as per company and manufactures instructions and procedures.
o To assist in the day to day operations of the plant in accordance with site licence and contractual conditions.
o To sort and separate waste types to ensure plant performance is at its highest.
o Training will be given on specialised operations.
o Maintaining the highest cleanliness of all working areas.
o Ensuring that the site is maintained in a clean condition. Any defect affecting the safe working order of equipment to be reported immediately.
o Ensuring that the correct Personal Protective Equipment, as provided by the Company, is worn at all times. The correct PPE must be worn at all times when handling waste materials.
o Remaining aware, at all times, of your responsibilities for your own Health and Safety and for the Health and Safety of your work colleagues.
o Carrying out other tasks within your operational ability or for which you have received appropriate training, as and when required.
o Ensuring compliance with all company work practices as directed.
o Operating mobile plant and other plant equipment safely and competently where trained, instructed and qualified to do so.
o Assisting with the general operations as required and instructed.
