Your role @CHANEL:
The Consumer and Media Insights Manager works alongside the UK Media team, as well as other cross-functional teams across all Divisions, to proactively surface relevant market, consumer and behavioural insights based on knowledge of divisional objectives and key challenges. In this role you will also contribute to Media briefs and PCAs, applying your analytical and reasoning skills to help develop winning strategies. You will maintain close liaison with Global Insight & Foresight and Innovation teams to keep abreast of the House’s strategic priorities and collaborate on cross-market projects as required.
What impact you can create at Chanel:
* In-house Social Listening: Deliver monthly reporting that provides real-time insights on the voice of clients and potential clients as well as trending topics by category. Proactively surface relevant insights based on knowledge of divisional objectives and key challenges, as well as answering ad hoc requests.
* In-depth analysis of Brand tracking data: Enrich the UK business teams with regular and actionable insights, including how results differ by category, as well as regional and age splits. Utilise knowledge of market and consumer trends to provide the why to the behaviours revealed by the data.
* Regular Business Intelligence & Trends updates: Keep up-to-date with industry and category reporting to identify and extract learnings relevant to the UK market, including the competitive landscape, in order to feed local discussions/strategies. Help the Brand stay ahead of the market by supporting teams with emerging market, consumer and behavioural trends that may impact our future.
* Market Research (Qual and Quant): Manage all local market research studies, including identifying and building relationships with specialist external agencies. Utilise research expertise to challenge and refine both internal briefs and agency proposals in order to ensure the right methodology and the most cost-effective approach is used. Assist with any UK-based fieldwork for Global research studies as needed.
What you will bring to the role:
* Demonstrable experience in consumer and market research, ideally with at least 2 years’ experience in an Insights-focused role. Expertise in qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, especially brand tracking research. Strong analytical skills to interpret and summarise diverse data sources, as well as historical performance, to produce actionable insights. The ability to share learnings and strategic recommendations clearly and effectively to key stakeholders, including presenting to senior leadership. Commitment to market research best practices.
* Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively and handle multiple workstreams at pace.
* Capable of working autonomously and collaboratively, with a proactive and driven mindset to ensure consistent delivery of various projects.
* Exceptional communication skills; able to build relationships quickly and challenge the status quo when necessary.
* Interest in consumer behaviour and brand relationships, preferably with prior experience in the Luxury and/or Beauty sectors and in-depth knowledge of the competitive landscape.
* Understanding of social analytics, with previous experience of Meltwater/Radarly tools highly beneficial.
* Prior experience of media planning and measurement advantageous but not essential.
