Job Description Summary The Senior Commercial Proposals Manager is responsible for the preparation of customer proposals/bids, contract negotiation and compliance with contract commitments and commercial risk assessment. Job Description Roles and Responsibilities Lead all proposal activities, including the coordination of cross-functional team for the formulation of creative, commercially and technically sound proposals that capitalize competitive strengths to serve the customer, resulting in successful execution of definitive sales agreements while delivering shareholder value. Ensure compliance throughout the proposal scope with customer’s specifications as well as all commercial aspects of the proposal document by partnering with the deal factory. Provide leadership during the deal review process to ensure that all commercial/business risks are properly assessed. Review and influence customer requirements and drive inclusion of key GE priorities into proposals Lead the proposal process with passion for simplicity and speed with the ability to coordinate multiple strategic proposals simultaneously Embrace and integrate lean methodology tools as a key foundation for all deal process improvement initiatives and proposal execution Lead communication at all GE internal organizational levels Use Salesforce.com to manage proposal workflow Engage and build customer relationships; support the opportunity owner in negotiations with customers as needed Required Qualifications Experience working in commercial finance, commercial proposals, product/customer support or related functions Relevant Degree Desired Characteristics Experience providing in depth financial analysis of complex, multi-P&L proposals, for new equipment and services and devising strategies to increase deal profitability and customer acceptability Experience in developing and negotiating long term customer service agreements Prior experience with customer specification review, proposal development, contract development and negotiations. Including equipment sales and consortium agreements Desire to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment Experience in the development and/or support of digital tools to improve data collection, reporting, and processing of commercial proposals and liabilities Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects and established project management skills Ability to influence others, lead change and accomplish goals through collaborative effort Technical knowledge of GE Aviation products and services and the environment where they will be used Strong oral and written communication skills Strong interpersonal and leadership skills Clear thinker: Simplifying strategy into specific actions with clear accountability, making decisions with speed & accuracy based on best available information & communicating priorities clearly & concisely GE supports flexible hybrid working arrangements for this position, that is 3 days in the office, 2 days from home.
