Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer Job Description We are seeking a skilled 3D Design Engineer proficient in AutoCAD and SolidWorks to produce parts, assemblies, and related drawings for projects in the water industry. This role requires for a candidate to have experience with SolidWorks Weldment and Sheet Metal tools. Ideally this would be someone who has worked with Steel Structures before ( Access platforms, Staircases, pipe supports), has a good understanding of industry standards and able to take the design from the sketch to the fabricated end product. This role also requires for a candidate to have experience working with pipework – making various pieces of pipe (elbows, Tees, reducers) as well as creating pipe routes. It would be expected for a candidate to be familiar with pipework industry standards and ability to implement that to their designs. The right candidate should be able to read and interpret technical drawings including P&IDs, as well as creating them, when required. Exposure to the previous R&D experience is a very big bonus for this role. One of this job’s responsibilities will include involvement into designing new equipment as well as optimizing the existing one. We are looking for strong research skills to quickly familiarize themselves with new projects and roles. While experience in the water industry is preferred, we welcome candidates from other industries with transferable skills. Additional experience with other 3D design software is a bonus. The role requires effective collaboration with other designers, project engineers, and shop floor engineers, as well as the ability to manage tasks independently when necessary to ensure smooth project delivery. This is an office-based job, ideal candidate will be expected to work form our UK Hinckley Office.
