Join our library team and make a real impact in your community! As a Library and Customer Assistant, you’ll be the first point of contact for visitors, helping them access books, information, and essential council services. From supporting digital skills to promoting literacy and learning, your role will enhance the experience of every customer who walks through our doors.
You’ll provide excellent customer service, assist with library events and activities, maintain stock, and ensure a welcoming and engaging space for all. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about libraries, community engagement, and helping others use both print and digital resources. If you’re friendly, proactive, and love working with people of all ages, we would be keen to hear from you!
This permanent role is available at 22 hours per week and is based at Cleator Moor Library, Market Square, CA25 5AP. You will usually be the sole member of library staff onsite and will be responsible for the service and building during working hours. Flexible working is not available as the hours are fixed to when the Library is open. Your working pattern will be 8.45am-2.15pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, every week.
