Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Semiconductor Photonics Yield Improvement Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, analyzing, and resolving yield-related issues in our photonics manufacturing processes. This role requires a deep understanding of III-V semiconductor photonics device physics and manufacturing process, strong problem-solving skills, and a passion for continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Yield Analysis: Perform detailed analysis of production data to identify yield detractors and implement corrective actions.
2. Process Optimization: Develop and implement process improvements to enhance yield and reduce variability in photonics semiconductor manufacturing.
3. Failure Analysis: Conduct electrical and physical failure analysis to determine root causes of yield loss and drive corrective actions.
4. Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including process engineers, design engineers, and quality assurance, to resolve yield-related issues.
5. Data Management: Maintain and analyze yield data of both released products and R&D products, generating reports and presenting findings to management.
6. Technology Integration: Stay current with industry trends and integrate new technologies and methodologies to improve yield performance.
7. Continuous Improvement: Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance overall production efficiency and product quality.

Person Specification:
Required
1. PhD Degree in Physics, Optics, or related field (e.g. Electrical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or Material Science).
2. Experience working with Manufacturing in such areas as: III V Photonic Devices, optical semiconductor devices, Laser, etc.
3. Demonstrated failure mode analysis, root cause investigation, and problem solving for product yield and quality issue is a plus.
4. Ability to work across time zones with partners and for international business travel as required to support project development, and test process deployment.
5. Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC), and 6 sigma concepts for process development and control. MS Excel and or Minitab highly desirable.
6. Python scripting skills and large data analysis.
7. Mandarin Speaking.

• Candidates must be eligible to, and hold all relevant finalized paperwork, to live and work in the UK. Copies of Passports and Visas will be requested. Please note we do not offer sponsorship for this role at this current time.
• This is initially a 12-month temp/agency worker contract, to be extended for further 12-month periods dependent on performance and workload. Assignments are renewed on the 31st December each year.
