Job Description
The Role
A Principal Structural Engineer position is available within a growing team in Bristol. This is an opportunity for a skilled engineer to collaborate closely with the Associate Director, driving the expansion and development of the local office. The successful candidate will be hands on in their approach to design, delivery, project management, and mentoring, and be able to build strong client relationships.
Responsibilities
* Provide technical leadership on a diverse range of projects across various sectors, ensuring quality and compliance with industry standards.
* Collaborate with the Associate Director to strategically grow the Bristol team and enhance service offerings.
* Act as a key point of contact for clients, delivering exceptional service and developing new business opportunities.
* Mentor junior staff, fostering a culture of learning and professional development.
* Oversee the preparation and checking of technical reports, structural designs, and project documentation.
* Manage project delivery from concept to completion, ensuring timeliness and budgetary compliance.
* Attend client and project meetings, site inspections, and design reviews as needed.
Requirements
* Chartered status or working towards Chartership.
* Proven track record in structural engineering, with strong experience in design and project management.
* Exceptional communication and organisational skills.
* Proficiency in structural design software and familiarity with Eurocodes and British Standards.
* Ability to manage multiple projects, lead teams, and deliver results within deadlines.
