The Bury Black Pudding Company Limited are looking to recruit an experienced HR Advisor to join their growing and expanding business.

This role is integral to the smooth operation of our HR function and provide comprehensive HR support across the business. Work closely with managers and employees, offering guidance on a wide range of HR matters, ensuring that our HR policies are implemented effectively, and contribute to the development of HR initiatives that align with our strategic goals.
Reporting into the HR Manager, duties will include:
* Provide expert advice and support on employee relations issues, including but not limited to absence management, disciplinary and grievances, ensuring compliance with UK employment law and best practices. Ensure paperwork is prepared and issued in a timely manner.
* Maintain time & attendance records: update and monitor all holiday, sickness, medical and other absences on the HR systems. Escalate patterns in absence, potential long-term absence or absence which could be protected under the Equality Act 2010 to the HR Manager promptly.
* Schedule and document the outcome of return-to-work interviews, and other adhoc meetings. Escalate concerns and issues to the HR Manager. Ensure all notes are recorded promptly.
* Support our recruitment team by overseeing and coordinating the onboarding process, ensuring all new starter paperwork, contracts and offer letters are all aligned, ensuring a smooth and positive experience for our new hires.
* Prepare letters and contracts, obtain references, conduct eligibility to work in the UK checks and coordinate the administration of the new starter process ensuring all relevant documentation and paperwork is completed and returned. Schedule new employee inductions with internal departments and carry out the HR induction, ensuring the information is kept up to date.
* Acknowledge and issue correspondence to leavers and administrate the leaver process and exit interview.
* Contribute to the creation and updating of HR policies and procedures, ensuring they are in line with current legislation and company objectives.
* Prepare amendment to contract letters and update the HR systems. Ensure all changes of details are communicated for payroll.
* Maintain accurate employee records in both hard copy and on the HR/Payroll systems. Carry out annual checks to ensure the information held on file are accurate and up to date.
* Assist with the annual culture survey, analysis and communication of results, focusing on ‘you said, we did’.
* Assist with employee communications and initiatives with a focus on the company values.
* Be the first point of contact for employee queries and provide relevant advice as per company policy. Ensure all employee relations issues are reported to the HR Manager and seek advice on more in-depth cases.
* Schedule staff reviews and ensure assessment criteria for the review is prepared. Escalate and discuss concerns with the Department manager / HR Manager beforehand.
* Prepare for, and accurately document, employee investigations ensuring best practice is always followed and ensure the process is completed in a timely manner. Advise and support line managers when considering whether further action, i.e. disciplinary action, keeping the HR Manager informed throughout the process.
* Ensure staff have correctly issued PPE, log and issue new PPE when required.
* Ensure all HR spreadsheets are updated to enable prompt reporting on all HR matters.
* Adhere to GDPR and always maintain confidentiality.
* Undertake training as required and keep up to date with changes to employment legislation.
* Action any other reasonable duties as required.

Key Skills & Experience:
* Generalist HR experience, ideally within a manufacturing/FMCG or similar fast paced environment.
* Experienced in the application of company HR policy and procedures and a good understanding of employment legislation.
* CIPD Level 3 or Level 5 qualification or equivalent
* Confident communicating with managers and employees at all levels with a style that is clear, engaging and collaborative.
* Excellent organisational, time management and communication skills.
* Excellent attention to detail and able to produce work accurately when working under pressure.
* Experienced and works pro-actively in a fast paced HR environment.
* Good computer skills, able to use Microsoft packages.
This role is a permanent contract.
Salary – Dependant on experience
Hours of work – 40 hours per week
Location – Bury, Greater Manchester
