At Leader Education, we are seeking a Mental Health Support Worker to support children within a SEND school catering for young people between the ages of 2 to 19, based in Cramlington, Northumberland. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with young people who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), as well as a genuine interest and commitment to helping them reach their full potential. This is a great opportunity to develop a deeper understanding of working with children who have moderate and severe learning disabilities.
The normal working pattern is Monday to Friday, 8:30 until 15:30.

The successful candidate will:
* Need an enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check or the willingness to obtain one
* Provide 1-2-1 support to students with EHCPs
* Monitor and manage students' behaviour and wellbeing
* Support the development of social and emotional skills
* Prepare and adapt learning materials to meet the needs of students
* Exhibit a compassionate and empathetic approach to supporting young people with diverse needs
* Work with individuals or groups of children (both in and out of the classroom) experiencing emotional difficulties
* Create and produce resources for use with intervention programmes, as appropriate (e.g., THRIVE)
