Responsibilities
In this role, you will be a part of our sales team within our Technology division, who, with over 50 years of experience in providing technology to schools, are a trusted partner to thousands of schools.
Responsibilities of the role are:
Prospect identification, development, and closure
1. Lead on the identification, development, and contract closure of new high-value customer contracts.
2. Win significant business opportunities, working with the prospecting team, bid team, and the rest of RM as appropriate, positioning RM as a credible and major educational organization to partner.
3. Produce effective written bid responses to customers' specific requirements based on the agreed solutions and parameters of the bid response.
4. Ensure all questions are answered to maximize compliance & scoring.
5. Take and lead bids through formal governance & executive steering for permission to bid, no bid, submission & contract close.
Customer & Trust Engagement
1. Engage and influence prospective Trusts and school customers to generate long-term relationships that can be converted to tangible future sales opportunities.
2. Attend customer meetings, growing personal profile and connections across our target MAT market.
3. Act as a point of escalation for the customer prior to senior management.
4. Grow and maintain a network of contacts across the customer business units.
Pipeline Management & Forecasting
1. Deliver against targets through pipeline management.
2. Track pipeline and ensure coverage against target.
3. Ensure regular contact with all opportunities.
4. Identify and mitigate risks within the pipeline.
5. Prioritize opportunities and the time allocated to them.
6. Accurately forecast opportunities.
You will also work closely with the acquisition function to develop a winning sales strategy in support of RM’s Managed Service GTM plans, as well as support the Bid team in creating a high-quality bid content library that allows RM to grow our bid response capacity as needed.
Experience
1. Extensive experience and success in selling complex, strategic solutions in a team environment, ideally in the software and business process outsourcing sectors.
2. Demonstrable success in Business Development at a Strategic Level.
3. High credibility in the building of strategic relationships at Chief Executive / Director level.
4. Strategic thinking and account planning capability. Ability to analyze complex market dynamics and develop a coherent and compelling response.
5. Opportunism and initiative – creative in approach to solving customer problems – e.g., partnering / consortia / channels to market.
6. Excellent bid management and virtual team leadership skills.
7. Flexible can-do attitude with a willingness and ability to adapt within the role.
8. Strong alignment to RM's Five to Drive behaviours – Be Brave, Be Curious, Make it Simple, Consider it Done, and Win Together.
9. A passion for the education sector.
