We are delighted to be part of FNP, in line with the Scottish Government Commitment to “roll out FNP in Scotland”.
We have been supporting families across NHS Forth Valley continuously from September 2017.
Job Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen within NHS FV Health Visiting Service for a 22.5 hours Family Nurse Supervisor Band 8a post. We are looking for a leader with drive and enthusiasm to support the delivery of the Family Nurse Partnership across the areas of Falkirk, Stirling and Clackmannanshire. The successful candidate would be responsible for managing the work of the family nurses ensuring fidelity to the programme’s licensing requirements. This includes:
1. Providing in-depth clinical and professional supervision (including child protection supervision) to the team of maximum 4-5 WTE family nurses.
2. Maintaining the integrity and quality of the programme.
3. Overseeing recruitment and engagement of hard-to-reach pregnant young women.
4. Building local relationships and facilitating continual learning and service improvement.
It would be advantageous but not necessary for the applicant to have the Family Nurse Supervisor qualification; however, it would be expected that the candidate would successfully complete this once in post if they had no prior qualification.
In addition, they will also hold a small caseload of families to whom they deliver the programme.
There would be an opportunity to work 22.5 hours as a Family Nurse Supervisor and 14.5 hours as a Family Nurse Band 7 having a caseload of families that reflects the hours if a full-time post was more attractive.
The NHS Forth Valley Family Nurse Partnership Service sits within the Women & Children’s Directorate at Forth Valley Royal Hospital; however, the successful candidate would likely be based at Stenhousemuir Health Centre but required to travel across Forth Valley.
