We are seeking to appoint a ‘Head of science’ as part of our school science department.
The head of science will have: Overall responsibility for teaching and learning, achievement and attainment within the department. Organisation of the delivery of the subject in the school and to contribute to the development and maintenance of the whole school strategy, policies and ethos. You will be dynamic and ready for a new challenge. You will be an exceptional practitioner with high expectations of every student.
You will be joining a talented and committed science department. The role presents an exciting opportunity to fill a crucial middle leadership role in our team and will provide an ambitious professional with excellent preparation for future career development.
Our successful candidate will have the following experience, skillset and qualifications:

§ Able to demonstrate a strong understanding of effective curriculum development in science to Key Stage 5

§ Honours degree
§ DfE recognised Qualified Teacher Status

Further details about the role
The post is full-time and permanent from 1 September 2025. This role reports to a member of SLT and will have a team that report directly to the post-holder.
