Day-to-day duties of the role will include:
* Assist in routine visits
* Assist in diagnostic, medical and surgical procedures
* Carry out solo calf health and herd/flock vaccination visits
* Preparing animals and instruments for surgery
* Assure that monitoring and support equipment are in good working condition
* Clean, maintain and sterilise instruments, equipment, and materials
* Carry out faecal egg counts/collection and external laboratory related duties (processing and packaging)
* Actively be involved in product sales
* Be expected to attend industry shows and livestock sales when required
* Reception duties
Ability to work with large animals
* A good understanding of the beef, sheep and dairy industries
* Knowledge of veterinary medical lab procedures
* In-depth understanding of veterinary health and safety procedures
* An understanding of advanced breeding procedures
* An understanding of farm animal medicines (POM-VPS)
* Excellent ability to communicate with farm clients
* Excellent attention to detail
* Problem-solving skills
* An aptitude for sales and customer service
