About the Role
The Customs Classification Administrator will be responsible for collecting detailed information from various sources to enable accurate classification, performing and reviewing classification, and investigating trade agreements and import requirements. The successful candidate will also be required to improve and maintain our classification log and communicate with external and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
* Collecting detailed information from various sources to enable accurate classification
* Accurate data entry
* Performing and reviewing classification and recording the basis for classification decision
* Investigating trade agreements and import requirements
* Improving and maintaining our classification log
* Creating process flow charts and info guides for team members and business stakeholders
Requirements
* Prior experience in the Customs landscape is essential
* An understanding of Import and Export Customs procedures
* Working knowledge of the UK Tariff Schedule and application of General Rules of Interpretation (GIR) and Explanatory Notes is highly beneficial
* Aptitude to work with data
* Good communication skills and ability to adapt language when necessary
