Lab Technician / QC / Technical Assistant - Kidderminster
Role is working 8am to 4pm except during busy season when it is a 2 shift pattern (6am to 2pm, 2pm to 10pm) and there is an additional shift premium during this time period.
Salary: GBP 25,050.00 per annum.
My client, a leading food/drink manufacturing company, is now looking to recruit a permanent Lab Technician / QC / Technical Administrator for one of their sites based near Kidderminster in Stourport. This is an ideal opportunity for a person with an interest in both laboratory and administration tasks.
This is quite a small, modern site but very important to the group and the successful person will report into the Quality Manager. Due to the size of the site, you will spend 50% of your time carrying out laboratory work and 50% of your time carrying out technical administration tasks. As the team is quite small, it is important that you are a team player and are happy to be hands-on.
As the Laboratory Technician / QC / Technical Assistant, you will be responsible for:
1. Carrying out analytical analysis of products
2. Ensuring the laboratory records are maintained and filed to satisfy quality standards
3. Ensuring that the equipment is calibrated as appropriate
4. Monitoring the fermentations, recording the analysis, entering results on SAP, and providing feedback to the Quality Supervisor/Site Manager
5. Ensuring all required information is entered onto SAP
6. Recording incoming raw materials and entering them on SAP
7. Liaising with other sites, suppliers, and transport to ensure that production and customer requirements are met
The successful Laboratory Technician / QC / Technical Assistant candidate will have:
1. Previous lab experience ideally in a food/drink environment
2. Good computer skills and willingness to carry out administration tasks
3. Enthusiasm to learn and apply new skills
4. Good communication skills
5. Ability to be a team player
This role is a permanent position working Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm (shifts for 12 weeks of the year).
