Job Description
Lead and manage the Operational production team including Production, Warehouse and Stock control to deliver an effective and efficient operation against daily and weekly targets and plans. Ensure quality and health & safety standards are achieved and maintained. Ensure that all teams are trained in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures and Health & Safety Procedures.
Qualifications
* To ensure that Planning, Accuracy & Quality is at the forefront of all resource and operational activities to ensure that the right resources are in the right place at the right time to deliver maximum efficiency within the operation.
* Ensure production machinery is utilised efficiently and maintained in line with manufacturers recommendations.
* Production planning to be at the forefront of the operational planning ensuring a least cost strategy.
* Ensure all procedures are adhered to in line with company policies
* Ensure all computer systems are kept up to date and are utilised effectively to assist the operation.
* Lead and manage the department to deliver a quality focused, effective, efficient Production unit on a day to day basis with cost control and budgetary measures In place.
* To monitor production rates, correlate on an hourly basis and review performance to maximise efficiency, working closely with Production supervisors to minimise downtime.
* To ensure accurate information is communicated in a timely and effective manner across all areas of the business. Ensure KPI’s are tracked and shared within the team and the wider business as required.
* Manage agency performance ensuring that the correct procedures are adhered to at all times
* Undertake performance reviews for direct reports and ensure that all PDPs for the production team are undertaken and delivered within agreed timescales.
* Work closely with colleagues in other departments regarding the supply of product, quality and achieving delivery days.
* Deliver all products within the agreed time windows to achieve maximum OTIF.
* Promote a culture of cleanliness within the facility, utilising staff downtime to cover cleaning operations efficiently and effectively.
* To ensure that all budgetary controls under your area of responsibility are managed and ensure that the weekly P&L is in line with and planned to exceed budgetary expectations.
* To monitor costs against budget for your area of responsibility and pro-actively look for ways of making the operation more efficient and achieving cost reduction.
* To coach and develop direct reports in people management skills and activities and oversee the implementation of a training/development plan to assist in succession planning.
* Ensure that all people issues within your area of responsibility are dealt with efficiently and in line with Company Policies.
* To work with Managers within the business to ensure communication, collaboration, best practice and efficiency are continually reviewed and improved.
* To ensure all health & safety and people management issues are identified and referred or handled in line with business policy and procedure. Ensure all issues are resolved to root cause to safeguard employees, operational areas and the business.
* Foster a culture of can do attitude whilst ensuring all day to day tasks are completed in a timely manner.

Job Context/Environment:
2 shift operation, although some flexibility is expected during peak periods.
The job holder will be required to regularly work to tight deadlines that may require additional hours to be worked at times of pressure
