Role Summary
Project lead and manager in electrical design. Responsible for effective reporting and section efficiency. Responsible for checking and approving electrical drawings and designs with support from the head of department.
Collaborating with other teams and departments to validate and ensure compliance of product.
Consult directly with customers and suppliers to identify and introduce product improvements.
Drive innovative product improvements and team process improvements.
Responsibilities
1. Lead team daily activities and develop safe and efficient working methods.
2. Provide technical expertise and guidance to other engineers, ensuring that solutions are technically fit for purpose, reliable, serviceable and meet appropriate legislation.
3. Support New Product Introduction and Engineering Change Management.
4. Apply DFM techniques in support of manufacturing products.
5. Manage own workload and set priorities for the team.
6. Ensure completion of final design documentation.
7. Manage CAD data within the SolidWorks PDM environment.
8. Collaborate with neighbouring departments including manufacturing engineering, quality, operations and product support to support the successful introduction of your designs into production and the field.
9. Design new machines and modify the design of existing machines to improve manufacturability in a lean manufacturing environment.
10. Validate and improve Component Drawings & Specifications to ensure optimum quality and cost.
11. Validate and test new machines and products to meet design intent and feedback.
12. Develop test plans and software parameters for launch projects.
13. Prepare layout, assembly, and detail drawings in 2D and 3D.
14. Prepare electrical schematics and specifications.
Experience Required
Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 5+ years' experience in the area of Electrical Engineering.
The ability to interpret and provide Engineering instructions & drawings.
Experience using AutoCAD / SolidWorks.
Previous experience of working with MRP systems advantageous.
