Position: Engineering Lecturer
Location: Barnsley College
Salary: £36,614 to £41,194 per annum
Contract Type: Permanent Full time 37 hours per week

The opportunity: As an Engineering Lecturer, you will teach a variety of courses, ranging from Level 1 to Level 5, to full-time and part-time learners aged 16 to 18 and adult students. You will deliver high-quality, engaging lessons that combine both practical and theoretical elements, using innovative teaching methods to inspire learners.
Responsibilities:
1. Design comprehensive schemes of work, lesson plans, and teaching materials.
2. Support learners academically and pastorally, helping them achieve their full potential.
3. Assess learners' work, provide constructive feedback, and verify or certify achievements.
4. Collaborate with the Course Leader and teaching team to review, plan, and develop an effective curriculum.
5. Monitor learner progress, maintain accurate records, and produce reports for continuous improvement.
To succeed in this role, you will stay up to date with developments in the engineering sector and undertake professional development as required.
About you: We are looking for a passionate and skilled individual with expertise in a range of engineering disciplines, including CAD, manufacturing processes, engineering science, electrical and electronic principles, electronics, mechanical engineering, and project management.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards PGCE if not already Level 5).
2. Level 5 in Engineering (or equivalent).
3. GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent Level 2).
4. Relevant engineering industry experience.
