Business Unit: Avon Protection
Scope of the Function: Reporting to the Director of Thermal Imaging, the Business Development Manager – Thermal Imaging is responsible for securing the commercial performance and growth within Thermal Imaging. The role requires effective leadership and communication skills, with experience in handheld thermal imaging and/or firefighter markets. The manager will develop long-term relationships with key end-users and global partners, and craft a global market strategy to enhance growth for Avon Protection. The position is based in the UK with extensive international travel expected.
Key Responsibilities:
* Represent Avon Protection in Thermal Imaging, understanding our offerings comprehensively.
* Define and implement sales and growth strategies, meeting or exceeding financial goals.
* Lead strategic and tactical plans for pursuing and capturing key opportunities.
* Identify and qualify new business development opportunities to expand the company's portfolio.
* Build and strengthen relationships with customers and partners, establishing Avon as the primary support organization.
* Achieve targeted orders, revenue, and contribution margin budgets.
* Provide insights and recommendations on new marketplace channels and regional opportunities.
* Maintain a deep understanding of market trends, technologies, and customer needs.
* Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders internally and externally.
* Represent the company at trade shows and global events as needed.
Accountabilities and Performance Measures:
* Orders, revenue, profit contribution, and strategic objectives achievement.
* Forecasting accuracy and effective planning within the SIOP process.
* Timely and accurate reporting for organizational effectiveness.
Skills & Experience:
* Experience in international business development and sales management.
* Proven success in leading growth and new business campaigns in complex technical environments.
* Background as a Sales / Business Development Manager with high-value sales solutions experience.
* Ability to build long-term relationships with international customers and partners.
* Experience in defining and implementing global sales strategies.
* Understanding of handheld thermal imaging procurement and buying cycles.
* Internationally aware, with knowledge of regional cultures and norms.
* Negotiation and commercial management experience with large customers.
* Ability to lead cross-functional teams successfully.
* Strong team player with a positive attitude and strategic thinking skills.
* Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting complex concepts clearly.
* Experience working across multiple time zones and cultures in an international environment.
