The Job
A Senior Security Incident Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating responses to security incidents that could threaten an organization's information systems and data. They are crucial in ensuring that potential threats are identified, contained, remediated, and analyzed to prevent future incidents. This role involves close collaboration with IT, security teams, and leadership to minimize the impact of cyber incidents and ensure proper incident resolution and documentation.
Responsibilities
* Lead and coordinate responses to security incidents (e.g., data breaches, malware infections, DDoS attacks).
* Ensure incidents are identified, escalated, and handled according to defined procedures and timelines.
* Develop and enforce incident response plans, ensuring effective containment, eradication, and recovery.
* Provide guidance to technical teams in identifying root causes and taking corrective action.
* Communicate with internal stakeholders, such as IT, legal, compliance, and executive teams, to provide updates on incidents and their impact.
* Provide timely and accurate reports on security incidents, including details of the incident, actions taken, and lessons learned.
* Act as a liaison between technical teams and management to ensure clear communication during high-stress incidents.
Skills and Qualifications
* 9 to 10 years of experience in Information Technology and Cybersecurity, with 5 to 7 years in a leadership or managerial role.
* Relevant industry certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), or Certified Incident Handler (GCIH) are preferred.
* Experience in incident management, security analysis, or a related role.
* Strong understanding of cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and attack vectors.
* Proficiency in using security information and event management (SIEM) tools and other security technologies.
Desired Skills
* Knowledge and understanding of information risk concepts and principles, as a means of relating business needs to security controls.
* Knowledge of and experience in developing and documenting security incident management, breach reporting, and change management processes.
* Awareness of the Mitre ATT&CK framework and how it can be used to learn an adversary’s tactics and techniques and focus incident response.
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, written and verbal communication skills and a good attention to detail.
* Ability to interact with AVEVA's personnel at all levels of seniority and across all business units and organizations, and to understand business objectives and values.
* A strong customer and client focus, with the ability to manage expectations appropriately, to provide a superior customer and client experience and build long-term relationships.
