Estates Manager – Secondary School in Hampshire

A well-established secondary school in Hampshire is seeking an experienced Estates Manager to oversee the management, maintenance, and development of its school premises. This is a fantastic opportunity for an organised and proactive professional to take a leadership role in ensuring a safe, secure, and well-maintained learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and supervise the Estates Team, ensuring effective staffing for all school activities.
* Oversee maintenance, cleaning, and groundskeeping contracts, ensuring high standards are met.
* Act as the school’s Health & Safety Officer, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations.
* Maintain all buildings, systems, and external areas to promote a safe environment.
* Manage planned and preventative maintenance to minimise disruptions.
* Oversee fire safety procedures, including regular checks on fire alarms and equipment.
* Develop the site’s full potential and seek opportunities for additional funding.
* Liaise with contractors and suppliers to ensure best-value services.
* Ensure compliance with GDPR as the school’s Data Protection Officer.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
* A recognised premises management qualification or relevant training.
* Experience in building/site maintenance, facilities management, and supervising staff.
* A formal Health & Safety qualification (or willingness to obtain one).
* Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
* Knowledge of statutory compliance and best practices in estates management.
* Excellent IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
