Job Description Mechanical Design Technician/Draughtsperson Full Time Vulcan-Dounreay/Thurso An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Design Technician/Draughtsperson to join Rolls-Royce Submarines in Thurso. Thurso is situated in the historical county of Caithness and is the northernmost town in the UK where we have successfully operated and managed the Vulcan Naval Reactor Test Establishment for the last 50 years on behalf of the Ministry of Defence. This position is being advertised due to increased workload coming online early 2025. What you will be doing Production of Technical documentation for the installation of mechanical components and equipment to support Rolls-Royce operations on the Vulcan site. You will be expected to make technical judgement on the options available and present these to site stakeholders prior to detailed design development. You will also be expected to provide technical assistance and advice on request to various on-site projects. Development of mechanical design drawings/instructions from requirements capture, through concept to detailed design. Assist Engineers in the output of design solutions with the production of 2D drawings and 3D models. Production & update of Mechanical P&IDs. Provide assistance and technical advice on request.
