Job Title: Production Operative
Reporting to: Team Leader
Purpose/scope of the job: To carry out operative processes within the assigned area to agreed standards in relation to customer, company, legal safety requirements within a safe working environment.
The role involves daily picking and packing of products whilst working in a chilled environment.
Main Duties:
- To be an effective member of the Production Team; supporting all production processes whilst constantly reviewing department practices.
- To process and ensure the packing and dispatching of herbs to specification, liaising with Team Leaders for specific requirements.
- Manufacture herbs in accordance with food safety and hygiene requirements, quality management system standards.
- Responsible for maintaining correct traceability for raw materials and products stored and handled during processing.
- Timely completion of all relevant controlled documentation.
- To check equipment daily informing relevant personnel of any corrective actions that may be required.
- To support the department with the training on new team members with in your designated area of work when required.
- To assist with process and production to continuously improve operations, safety and to minimise waste of water, materials and energy.
- Assisting the company to achieve its Environmental, Food safety and Quality objectives and targets.
- Ensuring you operate to the procedures in the quality manuals as facility to the BRC, M&S and other industry standards.
- To operate within and support the company’s Quality and Food Safety Policy ensuring that all operations are carried out in accordance with specified procedures and working practices and to report any problems identified to an immediate superior.
- Maintain housekeeping standards both internally and externally at all times and ensure correct segregation of waste.

The Company‘s production hours are from 5.30 am to 6.00 pm, from Monday to Friday and 5.00 am to 5.30 pm Sunday. Your contracted hours of work are 39 each week to be worked flexibly between these hours in accordance with the needs of the business. You will be entitled to an unpaid lunch break of 30 minutes and two paid 15-minute breaks each day.
There may be an opportunity to work an Evening Shift if these hours are better suited to you, which is 4pm to 1am, Monday to Fridays.
With overtime, the average earning potential could be a salary of up to £31, 230 per annum.
