Job Purpose:
To provide an efficient and professional general out of hour’s facilities support service in line with the operational activities of the company and to guard and patrol company offices and premises to protect the security of the site and the safety and wellbeing of all personnel engaged with the company.
Duties:
1. Convey a smart, well-groomed appearance and monitor, greet, and provide assistance to out of hour’s enquiries/visitors/contractors in a confident and professional manner.
2. Supervise the main entrances and access points, and complete all relevant signing in/out sheets to ensure only authorised personnel may enter/leave the company premises.
3. Monitor and authorise the entrance and departure of employees, contractors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of the premises.
4. Act as the point of contact on site for all out of hour’s third-party service providers such as cleaning contractors and IT support staff whose activities on site need to be monitored and controlled.
5. Ensure that all vehicles that enter the company premises are authorised and adhere to company traffic regulations, parking in the correct designated areas.
6. Provide regular, high-profile internal and external patrols of the premises to prevent and detect any signs of intrusion and ensure the security of doors, windows, and gates.
7. Display high levels of vigilance throughout a shift and be aware of, and report, any incidents or suspicious activities, recording accurate reports of activities and irregularities.
8. Ensure that a thorough office and porta cabin lock-down patrol is carried out on a nightly basis and that all area/door alarms and PIRs are activated.
9. Respond in a cool and concise manner to all activated intruder alarms or other potentially threatening situations by assessing the situation and taking the necessary action to resolve.
10. Ensure items of high importance or value are stored in the Security cage and inform recipients of their arrival prior to collection.
11. Complete all necessary company operational procedures and documentation as required to ensure the proper control of company property and maintain proper audit trails.
12. Check and empty all company recycling bins and check all employee welfare facilities and janitorial consumables (toilet paper, paper towels, and soap), replenishing as required and submitting stock replacement requisitions as necessary.
Knowledge, Experience and Education Requirements:
1. Formal training in roles and responsibilities of Security Officers within the Security Industry.
2. Formal training in Emergency Procedures, Fire Safety Awareness, and Access and Egress Control.
3. Impressive, demonstrable track record of skills/experience gained within a similar position.
4. Communication and Conflict Resolution Skills.
