My client, an International Bank based in London, are looking for an Operational Resilience specialist to come in at AVP level. This role will be based out of their Canary Wharf offices which you have to be in 3 times per week.
About the Operational Resilience AVP role:
The role will work closely with the Operational Resilience Team Lead and Programme team to develop a strong capability in the first line of defence, defining and delivering sustainable and practical solutions for the management of operational resilience, Crisis Management Response and Business Continuity Management activities.
The role holder will have detailed knowledge of the Operational Resilience consultation papers (Dec 2019), and will gain experience working in a team ultimately responsible for successfully establishing Operational Resilience frameworks and capabilities within the organisation.
Responsible for supporting the Team Lead with:
* Developing, implementing and embedding the Operational Resilience framework tools and methodologies in line with regulatory requirements to enable the achievement of my client's strategic objectives, with a particular focus on Governance and MI.
* Build and maintain collaborative relationships with key stakeholders across my client to ensure a collaborative approach to reporting is achieved.
* Project management skills to track project deliverables, risks and issues through the lifecycle of the project.
* Facilitating workshops with technical and non-technical stakeholders to drive agreement on requirements and delivery.
* Understanding complex data mapping projects linking new and established data sources to reporting & dashboarding.
* Driving User Acceptance Testing across the business including the roll out of training.
* Producing and maintaining project documentation through implementation to ensure traceability.
* Leading in establishing solutions with stakeholders to any issues raised through the project delivery.
* Ensuring adherence to HQ and Local BCM governance activities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for supporting the Team Lead on developing, embedding and managing the Operational Resilience framework tools and methodologies in line with regulatory requirements to enable the achievement of my client's strategic objectives. Specific responsibilities include:
* Supporting all tasks to promote awareness and understanding of Operational Resilience across the firm, supporting communications and training campaigns across all levels.
* Building on and maintaining strong collaborative relationships across three lines of defence with key stakeholders, helping the SMF24, Service Owners and Resource Owners perform their duties in line with regulatory expectations.
* Establishing and managing the process to monitor the resilience of important business services and critical resources:
o Defining and managing metrics to monitor resilience of IBS and critical resources;
o Coordinating activity to assess resilience of critical resources that support each IBS (e.g. monthly attestations);
o Establishing and producing informative dashboards to provide reports to stakeholders and senior management.
* Supporting processes to assess vulnerabilities, and define and deliver remedial actions:
o Supporting business areas with assessing and prioritising weaknesses and vulnerabilities in resilience;
o Helping the business to define appropriate remedial actions;
o Tracking delivery of actions and reviewing evidence of gap closure.
* Participating in establishing and managing the creation of the Regulatory Self-Assessment:
o Coordinating the annual regulatory self-assessment;
o Coordinating internal governance and approval (incl. Board approval).
* Taking a lead role in coordinating the governance of Operational Resilience, preparing papers for relevant committees and ensuring issues are escalated appropriately.
* Actively supporting with the continued development and delivery of Disaster Recovery and Crisis Management activities within London and the wider EMEA region.
* Coordinating London and the EMEA regional annual HQ regulatory assessment and reporting for BCM and DR;
* Actively supporting the Incident Management Team and Senior Management with:
o Timely coordinating response to all emergency incidents;
o Ensuring actions for staff safety as a priority.
* Responsible for maintaining robust CM plans and CM training activities (IMT, ET, BC Coordinators).
* Supporting my client's delivery in the EMEA region in line with regulatory and Head Office requirements to achieve my client's strategic objectives.
WORK EXPERIENCE
* Experience implementing new software tools into organisations.
* Experience with data mapping projects to produce reporting and dashboarding.
* Experience taking functional and non-functional business requirements for tooling and implementing them.
* Experience working closely with technology stakeholders.
* Knowledge of working in the fields of Operational Resilience and Business Continuity (preferred).
* Experience implementing a Business Continuity tooling solution (preferred).
* Previously employment experience in the UK Financial sector.
* UK Regulatory experience in Operational Resilience or Risk Management areas.
* Good knowledge and understanding of UK Regulatory policy statements on Operational resilience and Third Party Risk Management.
* Operational Resilience, Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery, Crisis and Incident Management.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
