Position Overview
As a result of continued growth, KCM Waste Management seeks to appoint a Business Development Executive. This role is 100% new business focused. We are looking for someone who can demonstrate experience in a previous sales role, primarily covering South Yorkshire with some coverage of North Derbyshire (M1 Corridor). This position will ideally suit someone who lives near Sheffield/Rotherham due to the requirement for frequent visits to our Head Office.
This position will see you working closely with all departments to drive sales and identify new commercial opportunities. You will communicate with both new and existing customers, being informative and understanding of their requirements.
You will be capable of identifying and developing new business opportunities to attain your sales targets. Within this role, you will also be required to generate reports detailing new business growth organically and from securing new clients. Good knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is needed.
Excellent organisational skills and a good work ethic are essential to the role, along with the ability to work within a team and communicate effectively with a range of commercial customers.
Duties Include:
* Selling a comprehensive range of waste disposal solutions to commercial customers
* Cold calling, generating new business leads, building a strong regional pipeline, and knowledge of your allocated area
* Developing and demonstrating commercial awareness
* Managing workload effectively to deliver agreed targeted sales
* Providing an outstanding level of customer service
* Attending commercial exhibitions, business expos, and networking events to further promote the business
* Selling to new clients, requiring motivation and the ability to handle objections
Experience and Key Skills Required:
* Previous experience within the waste management sector desirable
* Demonstrated good communication skills at stakeholder level
* Comfortable with cold calling, making own appointments, and managing time effectively
* Self-motivated, with a track record of target achievement
* Fluent in both spoken and written English
* IT literate, with a good understanding of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
* Professional telephone manner
* Full UK driving licence
