We are looking to recruit a Clinical Psychologist at Band 8a (or Band 7 with preceptorship opportunity), with real enthusiasm to work across both the Older People's Mental Health (OPMH) organic inpatient service, Poppy Ward (0.8wte), and the functional mental health inpatient service, Rose Ward (0.2wte), at the Gosport War Memorial Hospital.
Poppy Ward provides care to older people with organic conditions such as dementia and behaviour that challenges, and aims to provide an integrated service, supporting their families and the associated care systems.
This new and exciting post offers the opportunity to contribute to the development of a new psychological service to OPMH organic inpatients. Rose Ward provides care to older people with mental health difficulties such as anxiety, depression, personality disorder and psychosis, using the Comprehend Cope and Connect trans-diagnostic approach. The responsibilities will include the provision of psychological assessment (including neuropsychology as appropriate), formulation and therapeutic interventions to older people and their carers in an inpatient setting, to be a source of advice to the multi-professional team on psychological issues and to offer consultation and advice to other mental health professionals. Psychological input is highly valued and regarded by both services.
Main duties of the job
Responsible for: Attached assistant, graduate psychologists, trainee clinical psychologists on placement and band 7 clinical psychologists as appropriate.
Liaises with: Other team members, psychologists and members of other disciplines and agencies responsible for a client's care.
Position within the organisation: Portsmouth & South East Hampshire Division.

Qualifications
* DClinPsy or DCounsPsy including specifically models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and neuropsychology, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology as accredited by the BPS.
* HCPC Registration.
