Role overview:
As a Data Centre Technician at EMCOR UK, you will play a pivotal role in supporting and delivering services within our large-scale account for AWE. You will be responsible for providing a professional and efficient service on the contract. Your duties will include conducting and recording preventative maintenance, fault diagnosis of critical plant and equipment, documenting and supporting corrective actions in Mechanical and Electrical systems. You will also support and facilitate specialist subcontractors/vendors during planned, reactive, or project tasks, ensuring compliance with site procedures and safety documentation.
Duties/Responsibilities
1. Monitor, maintain, investigate, and acknowledge the BMS and SCADA systems.
2. Undertake daily site checks to identify and repair defects, maintaining plant rooms in a clean, tidy, and safe condition.
3. Rectify and record defects to ensure SLA timeframes are met.
4. Review subcontractor competencies before work permits are authorized.
5. Ensure compliance and escalate issues affecting site availability, health, safety, and security.
6. Provide innovative solutions and recommendations to improve processes, building systems, and plant operations.
Person Specification
Who you’ll be:
1. Strong Mechanical and/or Electrical knowledge and experience.
2. Knowledge of Generators, Cooling systems, and UPS systems. Aware of site criticality and work risks.
3. Completed a full Technical Apprenticeship and hold a technical qualification (C&G, HNC, ONC, etc.).
4. 18th Edition, 2391 Test & Inspect, understanding of LV distribution systems, with critical site or data centre experience preferred.
5. Knowledge of CMMS, L8 Certification is advantageous but not essential.
