Classroom Assistant, Gaelic, Balivanich School
12.10 hours per week, term time, fixed term to 31 November
£7, - £7, per annum, inclusive of £ Distant Islands Allowance per annum
The post holder will be required to provide general classroom support for the classroom teacher. Duties will include preparing materials to support the curriculum e.g. workbooks and worksheets; organising the classroom for activities; carrying out general tasks e.g. photocopying, mounting children's work, coding library books; supervising children on assigned tasks e.g. reading stories to children, playing board games; and supervising the children at break times or as instructed by the Headteacher.
You must have a working knowledge of children's development and learning. It is essential you have good communicative skills with children and adults along with good skills in oral communication, numeracy and writing. You must have experience of working with young children in an educational setting. The post holder must have communicative ability in Gaelic.
This post is subject to membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme in respect of regulated work with children.
Salary for the above post is inclusive of Distant Islands Allowance. Appointment to the post will be on the first point of the grade.
