Description
We are currently seeking a Quarry Supervisor based at our Divethill Hill Quarry & Asphalt Plant, Northumberland. In the role, you will be responsible for supporting the Quarry Manager with the safe and efficient management and operation of the Quarry. You will support managing production and extraction activities, troubleshooting technical problems, and overseeing planning and coordination with other departments. Awareness of the time-critical nature of the process and downstream activities.
Key Responsibilities
* Safety will comprise a key element of the role; you might also be required to conduct risk assessments and health and safety inspections and to demonstrate leadership in safety.
* The role will include being appointed 8.1d under the Quarry’s Regulations to take charge of health and safety on-site while the Manager/Assistant is not on-site.
* An important element of the role will involve administrative duties, from writing reports and updating records to reviewing and updating the electronic defect database.
* An ability to plan and organize work in a time-efficient fashion is critical.
* The ideal candidate will have a background in the extractive industry, be familiar with the extractive process with a strong focus on safety and interpersonal skills.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
* Mobile/Static plant operation – a Red/Blue card in wheeled loading shovel operation, and experience of operating mobile and/or static screening plant.
* Problem Analysis - Ability in proactively identifying problems, seeking pertinent data, recognizing important information, and identifying possible causes of problems.
* Compliance - Adherence to company policy and/or procedures. Seeks approval from the correct authority for changes.
* Interpersonal Skills - Awareness of other people and environment and own impact on these. Actions indicate a consideration for the feelings and needs of others.
* Detail Handling - Tolerance for and ability to handle the details and paperwork associated with the job.
