A new opportunity has just become available and we’re looking for a Senior Property and Casualty Underwriter to join our New Business team in Southampton.
Allianz has an ambition to build a market leading Property and Casualty team within the Southern market. To support this, an excellent opportunity has arisen for a Senior Property and Casualty Underwriter to join our growing and already successful team in our Southampton office.
Our Senior Property and Casualty Underwriters are at the forefront of key broker relationships, your role and skillset will be dedicated to the continued development of our ever growing account through a hunger to write and win new business. Your knowledge will play a pivotal role in the future development and success of the team.
As part of your role, you will also have the opportunity to shape the future of the team through the training and development of underwriters. Your role will be varied and hands on with a variety of work including internal audits, assisting with account management and reporting. You will also be accountable for engaging fully in the cross sell culture, collaborating with your colleagues in other departments to support our ambitious growth plans.
The role will play a key part in developing broker relationships including regular broker visits.

3. Being visible in the local market, thriving on face to face contact with brokers and end customers
4. Developing business relationships with key clients
5. Achieving agreed financial and operational performance targets
6. Collaborating strongly with other departments to achieve the Company's goals in respect of service delivery
7. Contributing to the development of others within the team
About You
You will be part of a close-knit team that works well together, to consistently deliver strong results. We are looking for someone that has an excellent knowledge of the Property and Casualty market and experience in writing new and profitable business and we would equally welcome applications from those with experience in any underwriting.
Skills & Experience:
* Outstanding technical underwriting skills in commercial Property and Casualty is essential.
* Excellent trading skills and a confident negotiator. Proven experience in handling large cases.
* Strong ability to build, develop and maintain broker relationships.
* Achievement orientated, able to organise own workload to meet tight deadlines and with a positive attitude.
* A good team player. Supportive to others with an enthusiastic and positive attitude.
* Confident and engaging communication skills with the ability to challenge and influence others.
* ACII qualified or progression towards – desirable
* Full working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
