We are looking for an outstanding Kitchen Assistant who's passionate about food and wants to make a difference.
You’ll be working part-time, 30 hours a week at Cygnet Newham House, creating an excellent experience for the people in our care.
Cygnet Newham House is our 20-bed neuropsychiatric care and treatment facility providing rehabilitation for women affected by acquired brain injuries (ABI). The hospital provides a safe and secure place to aid recovery as well as offering those diagnosed with a progressive neurological disease like Huntington's Disease, a placement to support and help manage the progression of their symptoms.

1. Assist in the preparation of balanced, appetising meals
2. Perform cooking tasks & other kitchen duties
3. Ensure the cleanliness of the kitchen, service areas & dining room
4. Wash utensils, dishes & make sure they are stored appropriately
5. Rotate stock & put away all deliveries
6. Maintain personal hygiene to comply with Cygnet standards and food hygiene regulations
7. Handle, maintain & store kitchen equipment in accordance with Cygnet procedures
8. Use chemicals in line with Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations

You are...
1. Experienced in catering, preferably within a care setting
2. The holder of a food hygiene certificate, with good personal hygiene standards
3. Enthusiastic, keen to learn & an active team member
4. Polite & professional, with a positive attitude at all times
5. An excellent communicator able to liaise with people at all levels
6. Diligent & take pride in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness
7. Able to work on your own initiative, as part of a team & under supervision
Successful candidates will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
