The Wingate Centre is a small charity, based in Wrenbury, providing essential recreational and holiday facilities for children with various physical and learning disabilities. Our mission is to enhance the lives of these children through engaging sports activities and specialised accommodation.
The Role:
We are seeking Kitchen and Dining Room Assistants to join our team over the summer residential season from May until the end of August. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting the Catering Supervisor and Cook in meal preparation, service delivery and maintaining a clean and tidy workplace. Your efforts will help create enjoyable dining experiences that support the development and confidence of our holiday visitors.
Responsibilities:
* Prepare the dining room for meal service i.e. cleaning and laying tables, setting out drinks
* Support the kitchen team in maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
* Help serve meals to children during dining hours, ensuring a welcoming environment.
* Assist with the preparation of packed lunches
* Collaborate with staff to accommodate special requests or dietary restrictions.
Requirements:
* Experience in a kitchen or food service environment is preferred but not mandatory.
* Basic knowledge of food safety practices and culinary skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a team setting.
* Strong communication skills to interact effectively with staff and children.
* A compassionate attitude towards working with children with disabilities.
