Graduate Air Modelling & Simulation Engineer
At BAE Systems Air, we have a long and proud heritage in the development, manufacture, upgrade, and support of world-leading combat and fast jet trainer aircraft. Today, we operate across the globe in multiple markets to support our customers – wherever, whenever, and whatever their challenges may be.
This engineering role is for the Modelling & Simulation discipline, one of the more specialist areas. Modelling & Simulation has applications throughout the entire engineering lifecycle, from prototyping and evaluating early design concepts, producing realistic models of how a system performs, to developing complex networked simulations to support front-line training activities. Your work could also include:
* Preparing/improving computational fluid dynamics or electromagnetics software toolsets
* Validation and documentation of toolsets
* Developing new prototype Virtual Reality or Artificial Intelligence-based demonstrators to improve product usability or design
As a minimum requirement, you’ll need to have obtained, or be predicted to obtain, a 2.2 in your Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Game Development (including Augmented and Virtual Reality), Computer Graphics (Warton-based roles), or other STEM subjects with modelling and simulation-related modules.
During the Graduate scheme, you will be expected to be involved in a number of areas to develop a broad understanding of the products and services we are involved with. It covers the entire BAE Systems product range spanning air, sea, and land domains, although this role particularly focuses on air platforms within the Air Sector business.
